Objective: 

The Course provides the knowledge of modalities involved with regards to the packaging and insurance of the international cargo and the assisting role being played by various middlemen.

Unit I: 

Liner Freighting Practices:
Types of rates, Pricing Principles and Surcharges.
Tramp Chartering Practices:
Tramp Trade, types of Chartering- Voyage, Time, Bareboat Charter, Charter party and its main clauses- voyage and time.

Carriage of goods by sea:
Charter party, bill of lading, Difference between Charter Party and Bill of lading, Liabilities of a carrier by sea.

Cargo Packaging and labeling of export cargo: Classification of losses, cargo claims, handling cargo claims.

Marine insurance:
Evolution, concept, policy- contents, types, principles of Marine insurance.

Risk and peril:
Conditions and warranties, losses assessment, claim doctrines applicable.
